  • That little town called Beaune

Went to this winery (is it even correct to call it a winery?) in a small town called Beaune. We only had an hour to spend here to we rushed through the maze filled with thousands upon thousands of bottles of wine. It was a very long maze and it was winter and cold (but not as cold as being outside, it was a very nice chill - perfect for the wine I guess), and it was dark and quite scary if you were there alone. I tend to take my time taking pictures so I get behind the group quite often, and this was when I reminded myself to stop watching those ghost/slasher/zombie movies. The chill didn't help either. So thankfully by the end of the maze, we get to sample tens of bottles of wine that were available at the time. They gave you this silver cup (fit enough for a couple tablespoons of wine), and you sip the wine from this tiny cup and you can sip as much wine as you want. There weren't anyone from the winery to keep an eye on you, there weren't any signs that limited you to how many drinks you took....., there were just a lot of opened bottles hang in' around, welcoming you to sample them. So there we were, all 25 of us - remembering our time limit (and because it took us 30minutes just to walk through the maze) - taking shots of different types of wine, limitlessly. Let's just say that when we got back to the bus, we all had a very nice nap.
